Dr. Richard Ranallo D.C. has been practicing Chiropractic since 1984. The doctor graduated Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia in 1983. The better part of the first 18 years our practice handled typical chiropractic patients. These patients usually had symptoms of neck pain, lower back pain, radiating pain down arms and legs along with headaches. Patients who had these symptoms usually had spinal subluxations in their vertebral column. The cause and corrections were made and patients generally improved.
In the year 2003 a major shift in the practice focus was more on patients who had health problems that did not respond well to Chiropractic treatment. We became the only practice in the greater Richmond area to incorporate Spinal Decompression Therapy. Spinal Decompression Therapy has been available since 1993 and was an FDA approved treatment since 1996.
Our interest and focus on patients suffering with Lumbar and Cervical disc problems became the primary part of The Chiropractic Wellness Center and still is today. Patients who have Degenerative disc disease as well as bulging, protruded, herniated discs along with Sciatica and Facet Syndrome became the primary candidates for the Decompression Therapy. Our practice handles such patients each and every day. We generally are helping those patients who have the problems related to what Decompression Therapy restores at approximately 70%-85% of the patients are experiencing resolution to their symptoms.
Our practice took on another such Scientific Therapy in 2004 when we added Low Level Laser Therapy. Low Level Laser Therapy is the application of light energy at specific wavelengths and power densities determined to be therapeutically effective. The energy is applied directly in contact to the skin for the purpose of stimulating the natural cellular repair process by converting the light energy in biochemical energy. There are no documented consequences of LLLT. The use of LLLT does not preclude surgery or other interventions for the small number of patients who may not benefit from LLLT.
By adding Laser Therapy to the practice we are now helping patients suffering with:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis & Golfers Elbow, Chronic & Acute tendonitis, Myofacial Pain, Soft Tissue Injuries such as Neck & Back Pain, Sprains, Strains and frozen Shoulder.
